Iraq Wins Asia Cup

Despite difficult conditions for the team at home, Iraq beat Saudi Arabia in the Asia Cup soccer/football final. The Iraqi team, composed of Shias, Sunnis, and Kurds, is an inspiration for the country, and has brought some hope to their war-torn land.

Good News from Nigeria

BBC's Mark Doyle is used to being pessimistic when it comes to news from Nigeria, but after interviewing one former politician and one charity aid boss (both Nigerians), things are starting to look up. Apparently the $1bn in foreign debt relief is being put to good use, and both Nigerians are pleased with what's happening.

For those of you into puzzles, here's one for you: How can you fly from Boston to Las Vegas and have layovers everywhere in between, be back in Boston by 1:00 the next morning, rack up over 6,000 air miles, and only spend $275? The mileage runners can do it, and so can you. It's good news if you're into raking in the air miles and you don't mind a bit of bonkers scheduling!
