Babies, Sweet Babies

Phuc is a Vietnamese man who takes unwed mothers and babies into his family home to care for them. Currently he's got 33 babies in his two houses and of course it's a full-time job for him and his family, but they wouldn't have it any other way. In a land where contraception is frowned upon and abortion rates are the highest in the world, this service is a welcome one that I hope spreads far and wide.

  • Abigail, I LOVE this blog! Where do you get your stories? (Obviously, I haven't gone to your links yet...just scrolled through some of the latest posts. Your stories makes me think of the mission org. Word Made Flesh. Have you heard of it? Their 9-month publication focuses on a different lifestyle celebration each month: intimacy, obedience, humility, community, service, simplicity, submission, brokenness, suffering. And their missionaries are in Romania, India, Brazil, etc. ministering to the poorest of poor--and the unwanted. Everytime I read the publication, I'm convicted of how meager my life contribution is compared to these saints.

  • I get a lot of my stories from the BBC, actually, or from the links over on the right. I'm always on the lookout for good stuff, but haven't posted in a while.

I haven't heard of the mission organization you mentioned, but I'll look it up. Thanks for the suggestion!

I know what you mean about having a "meager" contribution to suffering in the world, and I tend to feel guilty about that sometimes, too, but I'm learning to just relax in God's love and not feel like I have to "do" for him. He loves me just the way I am and that makes me really happy! He loves you, too, and loves your life and how you live it.
